Prayer Requests and Tentative Itinerary

Prayer Requests for Trip:

--safe, fun, and restful travel

--that we would experience the Spirit and Presence of the Lord fully each day

--that we would be mentally and spiritually prepared to receive our son

--for health for all 3 of us

--for good connection, bonding, and attachment with Simeon

--that we would be able to experience each moment fully; that it would not be surreal, but instead, very real!

--that we would learn and experience so much about Ethiopia and its culture

--for peace, patience, and flexibility

--that our travel plans and connections with people would work out as God desires

--that our focus would be on God, each other, our son, and others… and not ourselves

--for a good flight home with our son!

Travel Itinerary (as of now!):

Wednesday, March 31-Thursday, April 1: Fly to Addis through Amsterdam; arrive in Addis at 9pm on Thursday

Friday, April 2: Good Friday: Rest, Explore Addis, hopefully attend a Good Friday Service

Saturday, April 3-Tuesday, April 6: Travel to and explore Bahir Dar, Blue Nile Falls… Easter among the monasteries of Lake Tana

Wednesday, April 7: Rest, Explore Addis, hopefully connect with some Ethiopian friends

Thursday, April 8: Travel 3 hours south to visit the child that our parents sponsor through Compassion International

Friday, April 9: Orientation and meet our son for the first time; spend the day at the orphanage with him in Addis

Saturday, April 10: Spending time with Simeon at the orphanage

Sunday, April 11: Travel 3 hours south to meet with Simeon’s birth mother

Monday, April 12: Spend time with Simeon at the orphanage and visit the humanitarian services sponsored and overseen by our adoption agency

Tuesday, April 13: U.S. Embassy appointment, and Simeon officially comes into our care! Wahoo!

Wednesday, April 14: Spend time with Simeon

Thursday, April 15: Spend time with Simeon and depart for the U.S.

Friday, April 16: Return to Chicago as a family!
